Sir William Hamilton (British, 1730-1803). Group of nine engravings on paper depicting the Greek myths or scenes from ancient vases.
Possibly from the book "Collection of engravings from ancient vases mostly of pure Greek workmanship discovered in sepulchres in the kingdom of the Two Sicilies but chiefly in the neighbourhood of Naples during the course of the years MDCCLXXXIX. and MDCCLXXXX. now in the possession of Sir Wm. Hamilton ... with remarks on each vase by the collector." (Naples: Wm. Tischbein, 1791-1795).
(Each) Sheet; height: 19 3/4 in x width: 14 3/4 in.
All sheets are toned with discoloration, networks of foxing, and staining throughout. Some prints have minor tearing, creasing, and handle marks along the edges. There is undulation to the sheets. There is slight discoloration along the perimeters of the images. None of the prints are framed.
