Sir William Hamilton (British, 1730-1803). Group of two color engravings in black and orange to mimic the coloration of ancient Greek vases. One depicting three figures and the other depicting a line of alternating big cats and antlered beasts.
(Figural) Height: 19 1/4 in x width: 15 in. (Animals) Height: 6 1/4 in x width: 22 1/2 in.
The colors are bold and deep on each print. Along the print with animals there is a vertical crease along the center; there is a piece of paper affixed to the verso along this crease, possibly added as reinforcement. This piece of paper has caused some uneven toning to the sheet. Slight undulation to the sheet throughout. Networks of foxing throughout. Light wear along the edges. To the figural print there are two horizontal creases, one above and one below the image. Wear including small chips and creases along the edges. Networks of foxing and areas of discoloration throughout. There is a crease along the lower right corner. The works are not framed.
