Group of six earthenware ceramic pottery transferware rice plates including five in the pattern "Keelin Hong" and one in the pattern "Makassar." Two red plates, two green and red plates, one blue plate, and one blue and red plate. All marked along the underside.
Diameter ranges from 9 3/4 in to 10 in. The plates are in fair condition in general with no major chips, cracks, or losses. All items have wear, soiling, and crazing throughout. All items show discoloration to their white area with several other areas where coloration has peeled off, as shown in the lot listing. Four items show firing flaws along the underside. One of the plates, captured lower center in the lot listing, has a minute loss to the glazing; it has a crack to the glaze along the rim, which measures 1 inch. Another plate, captured in the center, has a minute accretion to the surface, possibly an original firing flaw; it has a sticker adhered to the underside. The red plate with a fu dog in the center has minute accretion to the surface. Some plates have a network of paints along the underside. Wear to the footrim, consistent with use and age. When inspected under UV light, there is no visible sign of restoration. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
