Group of seven transferware rice plates including the following makers and patterns: two J. & M.P. Bell Co., Ltd. (Bells, Plate, and Johore), Glasgow plates in the patterns "Pekin" and "Johore"; two Staffordshire Opaque Pearl dishes, one in the pattern "Delhi"; Thomas Furnival & Co (T.F. & Co.) plate in the pattern "Damascus"; one Tunstall plate in the pattern "Oriental"; and one plate marked "Oriental JT." Three plates in red, three in blue, and one in brown. All marked along the underside.
Diameter ranges from 8 1/2 in to 10 in. The plates are in fair condition with no major chips, cracks, or losses. All items show heavy wear, crazing, and scattered original firing flaws throughout. As expected from age and use, there are several areas the coloration has faded; some areas are discolored. The blue plate captured lower center has a minute chip to the rim. The blue plate captured the lower left has minute chips to the rim and a minute loss near the rim; there is another minute loss to the underside. All items have paint accretion to the underside.
