Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Studio pottery ceramic vase. Glazed stoneware with two small handles. Double stamped along the side just underneath one of the handles.

Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.

Height: 11 in x width: 5 in x depth: 4 1/2 in.

Condition

The vase is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations. Light wear to the underside consistent with age and use.
