Russian silver enamel inlaid cigarette case with a push button closure. Decorated throughout with scrollwork, an oval beaded cartouche, and flowers. Impressed along the center 875 and impressed along the front and back with maker's mark of Sergey Shaposhnikov, Moscow, and an 84 kokoshnik of Ivan Sergeyevich Lebedkin, ca. 1898-1908.

Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Height: 3 in x width: 2 1/2 in x depth: 3/4 in. Gross weight: 111.8 g.

Condition

The box is in fair condition. It opens and closes smoothly and clasps shut. The button works. Light wear throughout consistent with age and use. There are a few losses to the enamel along the blue bead border. There are a few cracks or losses to the enamel throughout. No restorations when inspected under UV light. Light scratches throughout the interior.
