Pierre-Joseph Redoute (Beligan, 1759-1840). Botanical lithograph depicting a red tulip or "Tulipa Oculus-Solis/Tulipe oeil de Soleil" flower. Signed in plate along the lower left; titled in plate along the lower center; "de Gouy sculp." along the lower right. This flower is also called a Tulipa agenensis or a sun's eye tulip. With a large sheet of text in a sleeve affixed to the verso.

Condition
There are no visible rips, losses, or restorations. The sheet is lightly toned. There are areas of uneven foxing/toning throughout that fluoresce under UV light. Slight undulation to the sheet. Light wear to the frame; framed under plexiglass; not inspected out of frame. The sheet of text is slightly toned; there is undulation to the sheet throughout; wear along the edges.
