A Chinese copper handwarmer or footwarmer. A rectangular form with an intricately pierced lid and a singular handle. Two incised lines along the interior center of the handle. The lid is piercing with a network of round and geometric motifs.
Height: 5 1/2 in x width: 10 1/4 in x depth: 6 3/4 in.
Heavy wear, tarnishing and scratches throughout. There are a few dents throughout the body of the handwarmer. The handle moves well but is slightly squeaky. There is wear along the handle where the hand would have grasped it; this area appears almost polished. There is an uneven coloration to the lid. There are a few areas along the lid that have broken and bent. The lid sits tightly on the body and is somewhat difficult to remove. Heavy wear to the interior, consistent with use.
