Kristof J. Slanina (1899-1978). Art Deco ceramic pottery tile scene titled "Salome," depicting the biblical story of the dancing Salome and John the Baptist. Each of the twenty-four ceramic tiles were hand decorated and fired. Signed in tile along the bottom row, second from the far left. Impressed mark "Old Bridge" on the reverse of one tile seen from the verso of the frame. Slanina was an artist employed by the Minnesota WPA.
