Gerhardt Knodel (American, b. 1940). Large woven tapestry titled "Guardian of the Fourth Corner" depicting an abstract scene in green and earth tones. Titled on a tag along the lower right corner.
Provenance: Distinguished Corporate Collection, Minnesota.
Length: 69 in x width: 54 in.
The item is in seemingly good condition with no visible tears, rips, or losses. As expected from the materials, there are a few scattered areas along the extreme edges that shows light fraying. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. When compared to similar works on the artist's website, it appears that the tapestry offered has faded significantly. However, this may just be a variant work made in different colors. Additionally, this item is lacking any frame on which the tapestry may be displayed and is loose.
