E.J.D. Bodley, England. Set of celadon-ground relief-molded porcelain dishes including 12 plates, one high tazza, and four low tazzas. Impressed along the underside with a registry diamond for 29 January 1879, pattern no. 4/9959. Each depicting a bird and tree branches in white against a mint green background with gold plated rims. The tazza's stems molded in the form of tree branches.
Height ranges from 1 in to 5 3/4 in. Diameter, each: 9 in.

Condition

The items are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. All items have light wear as expected. Tazzas have a few scattered areas with original firing flaws to the trunk. Two of the lower tazzas show discoloration to the stem. Several plates have minor firing flaws. Three of the plates has a minute chip to the footrim; one plate has a lightly discolored area that measures 1/2 inch to the underside; one plate has a light yellow residue that measures 3/4 inch by the bird; one plate has a 3 inches long gray mark along the underside, which is possibly original to the piece. All items have wear along the underside, consistent with age and use.
