Group of two 19th c. Russian silver niello cases, both decorated in an equestrian theme. One depicts a chariot and the other a troika. Both monogrammed along the underside. Both with impressed Kokoshnik marks, one with an assay mark dated 1873, and makers' marks.
Single horse; height: 2 1/2 in x width: 4 1/4 in x depth: 1/2 in. Three horse; height: 2 1/2 in x width: 4 1/2 in x depth: 1 1/2 in.
Both cases are in great condition in general with no major dents, cracks, or chips. None of them show sings of restoration when inspected under UV light. Both have light wear throughout; there are dents along two corners, which are not visible at arm's length. The troika case shows light discoloration due to oxidation along its inner side, which is expected due to its material. The chariot case has white accretions in recessed areas along the outer side of the case; along the interior, there is discoloration and oxidation toward the corners. Revere Auctions accepts wire transfers, checks (personal or business check in US dollars certified by a US bank, a cashier’s/banker’s check drawn on a US bank or US money order), cash (US currency not to exceed $10,000 in a single or multiple related payments). Visa, Discover, American Express or MasterCard may be used and are subject to a 3.0% convenience fee and are limited to purchases of $5,000.00 (total). The purchaser’s obligation to pay immediately the full purchase price is absolute and unconditional and is not subject to any defenses, setoffs or counterclaims of any kind whatsoever. Revere Auctions is not obligated to release a lot to the purchaser until title to the lot has passed. The purchaser agrees to pay Revere Auctions handling charge of $30 for any check dishonored by the drawee.
SHIPPING
