One 15th c. Japanese Muromachi period Shigaraki vase jar. Ash glazed earthenware. A large jar with a relatively short neck. The body is well rounded and somewhat asymmetrical. Excellent ash glazed glass droplets forming across the surface.

Provenance: Collection of Bruce Dayton & Ruth Stricker Dayton, Minnesota.

Height: 17 in x diameter: 14 in.

Good condition; some wear and scratching consistent with use. A few minor chips.
