Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Studio pottery ceramic matching bowl and teacup. Glazed stoneware with MacKenzie's iconic finger marks along the side in groups of three. Both stamped along the footrim.

Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.
Bowl; height: 4 in x diameter: 7 in. Cup; height: 3 1/2 in x diameter: 3 1/2 in. Both the bowl and teacup are in good condition with no cracks, crazing, or losses. When inspected under UV light, both did not show any sign of restoration. There are some minor firing and glazing flaws throughout both pieces, original to the artistic process. The bowl does not have any visible chips; however, the teacup has two minute chips to its rim. Wear to the foot rims, consistent with their use and age.
