Shiro Kasamatus (Japanese, 1898-1991). Color woodblock print on paper titled "In the Woods" depicting a modernist interior forest scene with autumnal colors and a reflective puddle on the ground, 1955. Signed and dated along the lower margin.

The colors are bold and bright. No issues when inspected under UV light. There is a slight undulation to the sheet. Three edges are deckled edges; likely some wear; the right edge is not deckled. There is a small loss to the lower right corner; visible in the lot listing. There is a strip of tape along the upper edge of the verso, likely from a previous framing. There are a few pencil inscriptions in the margins. There are a few spots of pigment in the margins, possibly original to the artistic production. There are two lines of scuff marks in the upper left quadrant; visible in the lot listing. The artwork is not framed.
