Russian inkwell in the form of a gilt bronze sleigh that carries the well. The glass inkwell is hidden within the sack along the back of the sled. Mounted to a malachite base.

There are no chips, cracks or losses to the glass inkwell. Light wear throughout, consistent with age and use. To the interior of the inkwell, there some ink stains. The bronze sleigh has tarnishing, some small areas of discoloration, especially along interior. There is residual polish collected in the recessed areas of the work. Some dirt and dust collected in recessed areas as well. The item opens smoothly on its hinges. There are some small chips and losses to the edges of the malachite base. Some small areas of discoloration throughout. To the underside of the base there is residual paper affixed. There are two holes drilled through the base where the sled is affixed. There are four felt tabs, one in each corner of the base.
