Orval Dillingham (American, 1920-2007). Mixed media on paper painting depicting an abstract expressionist composition in bold browns and blues. Signed along the verso. With a letter of authentication signed by the artist's daughter.

Dillingham received his BA and MFA from the University of Minnesota as well as an Art degree from the Minneapolis School of Art. He later taught at his alma maters as well as St. Cloud State University before becoming an Art Professor at California State University, Long Beach.

The colors are bold and deep. There are some creases along the corners, especially the lower right corner. There is a small loss to the upper right corner. There is a minute loss to the lower center edge and along the lower left corner. There is a small tear running 1/4 inch horizontally from the center right edge. There is a small tear along one of the creases in the lower right corner. The work is floated in frame. Framed under glass; light wear to the frame.
