Large Chinese Liao dynasty bronze mirror, with typical Liao dragon design. Similar mirror can be seen in Liu, Shujuan, Study of Mirrors in Liao Dynasty (Shenyang Publisher, China, 1997).
Height: 1/2 in x diameter: 9 in.
The mirror is in generally good condition given its age and use. The mirror itself is structurally stable. There are losses throughout, visible in the lot listing. Much of the top layer of metal has crazing or craquelure, also visible in the listing photographs. Corrosion throughout consistent with age. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
