Large Chinese famille rose porcelain charger painted along the interior with a vase of blooming carnations, mid to late 18th century. With a pink and blue patterned border with small cartouches depicting vases and flowers.
Diameter: 17 in. No major cracks, dents, or visible losses. Wear throughout as shown in the listing image. Original glazing and firing flaws. To the left of the center, there is a minute dent that appears to be original. Consistent with age and use, color glazing faded throughout. No visible chips to the rim. Along the margin, there are a few scattered areas with light brown accretions. No visible sign of restoration under UV light; along the margin, there is an area to one of the cherry blossoms that is fluorescent under UV light; however, it does not appear to be a restoration but the top layer of the paint is peeled off. Minute chips to the footrim. Along the underside, there are light brown accretions visible and minute chips to the surface that do not alter the overall appearance of the item.
