Joichi Hoshi (Japanese, 1913-1979). Woodblock print on paper titled "Early Spring" depicting a towering white tree surrounded by gold highlights against a blue to red background, 1974. Pencil signed and dated along the lower right; with a red chop seal along the lower right of the image.
Sight; height: 10 1/2 in x width: 8 in. Framed; height: 15 1/2 in x width: 13 in x depth: 1 1/2 in.
The colors are bold and bright. There are no visible tears, creases, losses, or restorations. Framed under plexiglass; light wear to the frame including two areas along the upper edge of the frame and one area towards the center of the lower edge of the frame where gilt has been lost. There is a small, slightly opaque accretion on the plexiglass near the upper third region of the work, towards the center. The work has not been inspected out of frame.
