JoAnn Verburg (American, b. 1950). Suite of five gelatin silver print photographs titled "Suzushi Hanayagi," "Jun Matsuno," "Adelle Lutz," "David Byrne," and "Robert Wilson" from "The Knee Plays Group No. 1," 1984. The collaborative performance piece titled "the Knee Plays" was created by playwright Robert Wilson and musician David Byrne. It premiered at the Walker Art Center from April 26-28, 1984. During its run, JoAnn Verburg took hundreds of sequential photographs as well as these stills of the significant players in the production.
