Japanese woodblock triptych in the manner of Matahira. Depicting the Great White Fleet.
(Each) Sight; height: 14 in x width: 9 in. Mat; height: 18 in x width: 35 1/2 in.
There are no visible tears. There is heavy creasing through all three images, of note one going horizontally through all the prints and a vertical crease down the center in addition, along all three. There is toning and discoloration throughout all three prints, especially along the left print, the top and bottom corners have heavy discoloration and soiling. In the center image along the center there are several spots of red discoloration.There are losses throughout all three images, in particular along the margins. The print on the right has losses and skimming, in particular along the lower margin and the top right extreme corner. The center image has losses to the lower margin and the top left corner. The print on the left has losses along the lower margin and the top left corner. All three prints have been mounted to a sheet of paper, due the nature of the adhesive the prints were not able to be removed. No signs of restoration under UV light.
