Don Koestner (American, 1923-2009). Oil on canvas painting depicting the waves of the North Shore of Lake Superior. Signed along the lower right.

Koestner lived in Minnesota his entire life and, after studying at Minneapolis School of Art, he taught at Atelier Lack, founded by Richard Lack, whom he met in school. The two artists remained lifelong friends.
