Chinese porcelain vase, decorated with a scene of scholars seated in a garden in famille rose enamels. With a six-character Daoguang seal mark along the underside in red enamels, partially obscured by a drill hole. The vase has been mounted as a lamp.
From the collection of Katherine Walker Griffith, a descendant of T.B. Walker, founder of The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a renowned collector of Chinese porcelain.
Height: 29 1/4 in x diameter: 6 1/2 in.
Other than the hole drilled in the bottom, vase is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations. There is very little wear to the enamels.
