Each, height: 8 1/2 in x width: 9 1/4 in. The paired rank badges: there are no rips, tears, or losses to either badge. The colors are slightly faded. One badge is split down the center, original to the artwork. All pieces are stitched to silk backing.
Gold badge: there are no major rips or tears. There are several losses to the metallic thread appliques along the borders, most notably the center bottom and just above the waves in the lower left quadrant. Areas of fraying throughout. The badge is stitched to a silk backing. There is staining, water exposure and residual adhered paper to the backing, that does not affect artwork.
