Wilhelm von Gloeden (German, 1856-1931). Photograph on paper titled "Plueschow Terrace, Posillipo" depicting a young man on the garden terrace of Wilhelm von Plueschow - von Gloeden's cousin - in Posillipo, Naples, Italy. Albumen print. Signed "W von Gloeden Taormina" in plate along the lower right. Inscribed "EW 227/13-11-13" in pencil along the verso. Von Gloeden is best known for his photographic works portraying young men in classical poses and settings reminiscent of Greek or Italian antiquity.
