Wheatstone wave machine, designed by Sir Charles Wheatstone (English, 1802-1875), manufactured by Rudolph Koenig, Paris. The machine features rows of pins, capped by white beads, which move following the waves on wooden rods, inserted into the slot in pairs. This machine, designed by Wheatstone in the early 1840s, was intended as a teaching device to demonstrate the movement of invisible wave forms.
