Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Studio pottery ceramic faceted tea pot. Oatmeal matte glazed stoneware with a wooden handle. Stamped along shoulders.
Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.
Height: 6 1/2 in x diameter: 7 1/2 in.
There are no major cracks, chips, or losses. There is crazing throughout the item. There is a minute loss along the base measuring approximately 1 1/4 inches. There are no obvious signs of restoration.
