Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Studio pottery ceramic bowl. Matte orange-brown glaze stoneware. With a split rim. Stamped along the footrim.

Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.

Height: 3 3/4 in x diameter: 7 1/2 in.

Condition

There are no visible chips, cracks, losses, or restorations. Very light wear throughout. There are two stickers affixed to the interior of the bowl.
