Wanda Gag (American, 1893-1946). Lithograph on paper titled "Snow Drifts," depicting a winter landscape, 1934. Pencil signed dated along the lower right; titled along the lower center. From an edition of 50. While studying at The Minneapolis School of Art, she became acquainted with artists like Harry Gottlieb, Adolf Dehn, and book collector and publisher Herschel V. Jones. She is most well known for her 1928 book "Millions of Cats," written and illustrated by Gag.
Sight; height: 10 1/4 in x width: 7 3/4 in. Matted; height: 20 in x width: 16 in.

Condition

There are no rips, losses, or restorations when inspected under UV light. The sheet is very lightly toned and there is a very slight undulation to the sheet. Along the upper right corner there is a crease measuring approx. 2.5" in length. Light wear along the deckled edges. There is a light pencil mark along the lower right edge measuring 1.25" in length. There are a few minor spots of soiling along the verso that do not seem to affect the verso. The work is not hinged and is connected to the mat with six folded pieces of plastic; the plastic is attached to the mat but not the work itself and the sheet can easily be removed by lifting up the plastic. The work is matted, not framed.
