Frederick M. Asher and Catherine E. Asher were prominent scholars in the field of Art History. Both dedicated their lives to the education of students, teaching for many years as professors at the University of Minnesota. Wear throughout consistent with age and use. Unevenness to the stones, possibly original to production. Tarnish in the recessed areas of the work. Some dirt/dust in the recessed areas. There are a few minor bends to the metal along the outside, only noticeable under close inspection. No apparent losses or breaks.
