One Chinese late Ming dynasty bronze vase. This vase is of the classic mallet form taken from porcelain forms. The body is decorated in high relief with scenes of a scholar in a landscape with trees. Ca. 17th c. Illustrated in "The Second Bronze Age: Later Chinese Metalwork," London: Sydney L. Moss, Ltd., 1991.

Provenance: Collection of Bruce Dayton & Ruth Stricker Dayton, Minnesota.

Height: 4 1/4 in x diameter: 1 3/4 in.
