Ruth Oseid Johnson, a Minnesota-born oil painter and printmaker, returned to her roots after years in California and Arizona, focusing on light dynamics in interiors and landscapes, and human-environment relationships. Guided by influential mentors like David Feinberg and Paul Kramer, she emphasizes mastery in her craft, from canvas stretching to framing, and has left her mark on institutions such as the Minnesota Museum of American Art.

Unframed; height: 12 1/4 in x width: 16 1/4 in. Framed; height: 13 1/4 in x width: 17 1/4 in x depth: 1 1/2 in.

Condition

The colors are bold and bright and the surface is stable. There is some craquelure throughout, especially along the upper left corner. Some light stretcher bar marks around the perimeter of the work. Some wear to the frame.
