Russian silver gilt and enamel case. Decorated throughout with graceful scrolling enamels in shades of blue, white, and red. Stamped along the interior with maker's mark GK, silver standard kokoshnik mark 84, the year 1894, and assayer mark for Lev Fedorovich Oleks, Moscow.

Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Height: 3/4 in x width: 2 in x depth: 3 1/2 in. Weight: 114.2 grams.

Condition

The case is in good condition with no visible dents, cracks, or losses. When inspected under UV light, there is no sign of restoration. There are some minor losses to the enamel in three of the blue circles along the border. On the interior, there are some areas of discoloration possibly due to oxidation, which one can easily expect given its age and use. The interior has loops for elastic, bit no elastic remains. Light wear throughout. The case opens and closes smoothly. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Please note that the lack of a condition statement does not imply perfect condition. Email condition@revereauctions.com with any condition questions.
