Russian paperweight in the form of a gilt bronze sleigh carrying a large chunk of quartz "ice." Mounted to a malachite base.

Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Height: 2 1/2 in x width: 4 1/2 in x depth: 3 1/4 in. The clear quartz has natural breaks throughout, many of which are likely original to the artistic production, however, it is impossible to tell if they are natural breaks due to the nature of the material. The bronze sleigh has some light tarnishing and wear. Dirt and dust have collected in the recessed areas. There are four minute chips along the edges of the base. Along the underside there is a green, felt-like material affixed the base; areas of this material have losses.
