Robert Fisch (Hungarian/American, 1925-2022). Gouache on paper painting depicting an abstract white shape against a black background. Signed along the lower right. Fisch was a Holocaust survivor and world-renowned pediatrist as well as an artist and author. He studied art at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), conceived of the Minnesota History exhibit "The Value of One Life," exhibited at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia), and the Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He died on his 97th birthday in 2022.

Condition

No visible tears, creases, or losses. Undulation to the sheet. Light surface stretches throughout the recto. Light color variation to the natural black pigment, original to the piece. No visible sign of restoration. To all four corners, there are pinholes, original to the artistic practice. Light wear to margins, original to the artistic practice. Light minute paint loss to the left center; please see the listing image. Along the verso, light grey marks throughout, possibly from paint but do not affect the recto.
