Rare Chinese Qing dynasty kossu or kesi rank badge with woven bird, possibly peacock, feather. The incorporation of feather in textile was valued in Qing dynasty as the famous Chinese early Qing dynasty novel "Dream of the Red Chamber" mentions a sort of textile that involves incorporation of gold and silver threads as well as the shiny bird feathers.
