Group of two French Sevres style old Paris porcelain plates. Each depicting a portrait surrounded by a ground of deep blue (beau bleu) with oval reserves surrounded by ornate gilded frames. The portraits depict Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, Madame de Pompadour (French, 1721-1764) and Louise Benedicte de Bourbon, Duchess du Maine (French, 1676-1753.) Each plate with a Sevres mark along the underside indicating a date of 1779. Each additionally inscribed along the underside with the name of the woman depicted.Each; height: 1 in x diameter: 9 3/4 in.
