Matsumura Goshun, sometimes referred to as Matsumura Gekkei, was an Edo period painter and a founder of the Shijo school of painting. A master of Japanese southern school painting, he was also a follower of Yosa Buson (Japanese, 1719-1784) and worked with a circle of painters around Maruyama Okyo (Japanese, 1733-1795).
