Likely Richmond, Virginia leather key basket with silver mounts, ca. 1850. With finely stitched embroidered decoration along the body of the basket.Height: 6 1/4 in x width: 7 in x depth: 4 1/4 in.
The basket is in generally good condition. There is copious wear throughout consistent with age and use. The handle shows the most wear with losses throughout. The leather has broken open and the wire used to form the shape of the handle is exposed. Some small losses to the stitching throughout, most noticeably along the handle.
