K.P.M., Germany. Hand painted porcelain plaque after Carlo Dolci (Italian, 1616-1686), "Mater Dolorosa," 1655. Depicting the Virgin Mary draped in blue with her hands clasped in prayer or contemplation looking down. Impressed KPM with scepter along the verso with incised measurements. Illegibly inscribed in pencil along the verso.
Height: 12 1/2 in x width: 10 in.
There are no visible chips, cracks, or losses. No signs of restoration when inspected under UV light. Light wear and scratches throughout.
