Jun Kaneko (Japanese, b. 1942). Small sculpted ceramic tile designed by Kaneko depicting a grey rectangle with a cream colored left corner delineated from the grey area by a red line; along the top sixth of the tile is a glazed region of navy blue, delineated from the grey areas similarly to the left corner, with a red line. Incised signature and date, 1987, along the verso; numbered "488" along the surface of the the verso twice: once in marker directly along the surface of the tile, and second, along a length of masking tape affixed to the verso.
Height: 7 in x width: 4 1/2 in x depth: 1 1/4 in.
No major cracks, chips, losses, or restorations. Tape affixed to the verso with the number 488 written on it. The number 488 is written with felt-tip pen along the verso above the tape. Crazing to the white glaze. Some wear throughout.
