Jose Luis Cuevas (Mexican, 1934-2017). Portfolio titled "The Magician's Message from Cuevas's Comedies," containing prints "I. Dachau," "II. Black Dream," and "III. Goofus Bird." "I. Dachau" depicts a cloaked man standing on top of a half dome; printed on a gold foil envelope; embossed "CP" and numbered "I." in plate along the lower left. "II. Black Dream" depicts two men arranged in the sky, with a surreal trail leading to a doorway across the lithograph; signed and dated in plate along the lower left; numbered "II." in plate along the lower right. "III. Goofus Bird" depicts a man standing with a bird perched on his shoulder in the center of the lithograph, and a man and an apple on the lower left; signed and dated in plate along the lower left, and numbered "III." in plate along the upper right.
