Japanese mid-century modern woodblock print depicting a black fish against a gray and red geometric background, 1959. Pencil signed illegibly along the lower right and left; dated along the lower center; Japanese character along the lower right; numbered 2/30 along the lower right.
Sight: height: 8 1/2 in x width: 13 1/2 in. Framed: height: 9 1/4 in x 14 1/4 in.
No visible tears, losses, or signs of restoration under UV light. The sheet is toned as shown in the listing image; undulation throughout the sheet. Foxing and browning throughout. The upper margin is possibly trimmed. To the center of the right margin, there are two red original paint residues that do not affect the center image. To the upper right corner, there is an area with minute chipping. Very light creases along the margins; please see the listing image. Along the upper margin, there are a few scattered horizontal lines that is not visible at arm length. Along the verso, original paint from the recto is seen through; see the listing image. Pencil inscription along the upper right and lower left corners. Along the verso, there is an area with light red marks to the lower left corner. Framed under museum glass; wear to the frame.
