Hilaire Harzberg Hiler (American, 1898-1966). Abstract painting in oil on masonite titled "Amazonas: Structures in Green," depicting structural geometric shapes in shades of green with two prismatic bands of color along the center. Signed and dated 1945-1949 along the lower right. Further signed and dated 1949 along the verso. A label from the Whitney Museum of American Art that notes the artwork's inclusion in the 1968 Hilaire Hiler Exhibition is adhered along the verso; there is additionally a gallery label from Addison Rowe Gallery, LLC, adhered to the frame verso.
