Group of four 19th-century Chinese cinnabar lacquered boxes. Two circular bowls or vessels with blue interiors and two lidded boxes. All profusely carved; the two bowls with floral motifs, one box with geometric motifs with a scene of figures in a landscape along the lid, and the other box with scrollwork and flowers with a scene of figures in a landscape along the lid. The two bowls with cobalt blue interiors.Height ranges from 1 1/2 in to 2 1/2 in; width ranges from 4 in to 5 1/4 in; depth ranges from 2 1/2 in to 4 in.
There are a few small splits to the largest wooden box along the edge. Light wear throughout all pieces including some small scratches, dirt/dust collected in the recessed areas, and wear along the undersides from age and use.
