Group of three Chinese Han Dynasty seated terracotta tomb figures. All well modeled, depicting kneeling figures in robes. Two are possibly holding objects that are now lost; these could have been trays of goods or musical instruments supporting other dancing figures. Part of a much larger set depicting the whole court of followers of a wealthy individual.

Provenance: Lally & Co New York, New York; Collection of Bruce Dayton & Ruth Stricker Dayton, Minnesota.

(With stands) Figure 1; height: 9 in x width: 6 1/2 in x depth: 5 1/4 in. Figure 2; height: 8 in x width: 6 in x depth: 6 1/2 in. Figure 3; height: 8 in x width: 6 1/2 in x depth: 5 in.

Condition

Loss of hands and polychrome, very common for items of this age and category. One with possible water damage.
