A group of three niello silver cases, including:
One Russian .875 silver case with floral and geometric niello exterior. Marked at interior top and interior bottom with 84, Moscow mark, 1863, and BE maker's mark.
One case with niello designs for, "World Cruise / From Port to Port / America Europe and Asia" and niello world map. Unmarked.
One case with cross hatched niello exterior and the top with ornate niello scene that is significantly faded.
Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Height ranges from 1/16 in to 1/2 in; width ranges from 2 1/2 in to 4 in; depth ranges from 1 1/2 in to 3 in. Gross weight: 233.0 g.
Tarnishing, light scratches and wear throughout. The Russian case with polish accretions to the interior. World Cruise case hungers loose. Other case with significantly worn niello on the top, scratches to the interior and small, pin point holes to some corners.
