Group of two Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints including:
Utagawa Toyokuni II (Japanese, 1777-1835). Woodblock print titled "Somenosuke of the Matsubaya" from the series "Great Contemporary Beauties (zensei soroi) Compared to Famous Places of Yamato," ca. 1828-1834.
Utagawa Kunisada (Japanese, 1786-1865). Woodblock print titled "Mount Asama at Karuizawa Station (Actor Ichimura Takenojo V as) Oshu," ca. 1852, no. 19 in a series.
(Toyokuni) height: 14 7/8 in x width: 10 in. (Kunisada) height: 15 in x width: 10 1/4 in.
Both sheets have been trimmed. There are areas of fritting and handling marks along the edges. Small creases along the edges. Areas of foxing to both prints. Both prints with two small pieces of framing tape affixed to the verso. Both works are not framed.
