George Morrison (Ojibwe, 1919-2000). Oil on canvas still life of a pipe on a chair, 1949. Signed and dated along the upper right. With numerous pencil inscriptions along the verso of the frame.
Sight; height: 17 3/4 in x width: 13 1/2 in. Framed; height: 25 in x width: 21 in.
Condition
There are a few small scattered losses to the top paint layer. Along the upper center there is a restoration measuring approx. 2 inches in length. Patches are visible along the verso. There is a small line of inpainting visible along the recto. There is a slight undulation to the surface of the work. Light wear to the frame.
